Selia, whom Arlen's mother sometimes called "Selia the Barren", was the town speaker of Tibbet's Brook . A hard woman, tall and thin, with skin like rough leather, she tolerated no nonsense. Her hair were long and grey. She didn't have children of her own but acted as a parent to everyone in Tibbet's Brook. She was wise as well as stubborn.
