The Southern Fort Krasia's spoken language, Krasian, is, according to Ahmann Jardir, a much prettier language than the greenlanders more guttural speech. It is only spoken by a few "greenlanders", and vice versa - both sides believing the other language to be crude and inferior. The language is largely completely independent of Thesan language.
Krasian also refers to things of the culture and people of Krasia. Due to limited trade and raiding of Thesan villages, some Krasians have learned a bit of Thesan, but few Thesans have learned Krasian.

The Krasian language appears to be a conglomeration of Arabic and Hindi. Some names like Ahmann, Abban and Inevera are Arabic sounding, where as others like Jurim, Shanjat and Hasik are more clearly Indian in nature. This makes an odd combination, as Arabic is a smoother and more musical language than Hindi, which is often guttural. This apparent in several points of the story, where sudden caesuras mar the otherwise smooth flow of Krasian words.
