Alagai'ting Ka is the Krasian word for "The Mother of All Demons", the demon queen of Krasian myth. The demon queen is the most powerful demon known in the The Demon Cycle books.
In The Desert Spear
Only mentioned in The Desert Spear by a Mind Demon as "The Queen", it can be assumed that she is the supreme ruler of all demon kind.
In The Daylight War
It is revealed in The Daylight War that the current queen is the most powerful of all demons and rules the mind court. She lays eggs from her egg sack that is then imprinted by a mind demon. It is unknown if this will make the eggs hatch into other Mind Demons or into lesser demons. It is also unknown if she lays the eggs for all demon kind or only mind demons.
The current queen is not the first queen as it is hinted by the Alagai Ka (royal consort) that the last queen was either killed or died. Other details hint that the current queen is around three thousand years old, as she was born close to the end of the last demon war.
In The Core
In The Core, the demon queen is described to have an armored tail with deadly venom in it. Ignorance wards do not affect her.
During the time she lays her eggs, she is bloated, but her mental strength is not weaker. At some part in the cycle, she lays six eggs with new queens that Alagai Ka must kill to preserve their place.
Weaknesses
- Simple mind demon wards can prevent her from controlling someone.
- The only known ward that kills this mighty demon is the killing ward. This ward was created by Arlen Bales as he was near to death and traveled with the help of the "between state" to the Core.
